Southampton area
This picture was taken from the footbridge at Millbrook station on 3 August 1990. A class 47 hauled freightliner train is seen heading for London, whilst on the left of the picture, a freightliner train from the north has just arrived. There are two freightliner terminals at Southampton.
47 381 is seen with a tanker train at Marchwood on the freight-only Fawley branch on 21 May 1991. This line serves an oil refinery and an M.O.D. site.
47 971 is seen passing Eastleigh with a test train on 21 May 1991.
A 12-car EMU formation headed by unit no.2011 is seen heading northbound at Eastleigh on 30 August 1986. The two tracks on the left of the picture lead into Eastleigh depot. The last two pictures were both taken from the same overbridge, but facing in different directions.
