47 827 is seen arriving at Worcester Shrub Hill station with the PathfinderTours' Mendip Quarryman' railtour on 31 March 1990 click here to enlarge.

This picture was taken from a vantage point above Rainbow Hill Tunnel. 31 423 and 31 568 are seen passing the signal box at Tunnel Junction whilst working the 'Wensleydale Wanderer' railtour on 27 May 1990. The train has just called at Shrub Hill station. The line to Foregate Street and Hereford is on the right. A connecting line, out of sight in the distance, forms a triangle. click here to enlarge.

Norton Junction is situated three miles east of Shrub Hill station. Until the early 1990's there were two loco-hauled trains from Paddington to Hereford on Sunday afternoons. One such train, hauled by 47 583, is seen coming off the Oxford line and passing Norton Junction signal box. The line to the right goes to Gloucester. click here to enlarge.

This picture is taken from the end of the platform at Worcester Foregate Street station as a Paddington to Hereford train approaches on 27 May 1990. The tracks seen here are in fact two independent bi-directional running lines which diverge to the right of the picture and then form two sides of the triangular layout at Worcester. click here to enlarge.

Single car unit no.55032 is seen with a Barnt Green to Worcester train at Droitwich Spa on 31 March 1990. Both routes in the distance effectively go to Birmingham. Via Kidderminster (left) and Bromsgrove (right). The area on the right of the picture used to be a coal depot. When this picture was taken, the sidings had just been lifted although the private shunting loco still remained on-site. click here to enlarge.

Evesham is fourteen miles from Worcester and is situated on the line to Oxford which is mostly single track. On 6 May 1990, 47 573 is about to leave the passing loop at Evesham with Sunday afternoon Paddington to Hereford train. click here to enlarge.

50 036 is seen passing the signal box at Evesham with the 16.15 Sundays Hereford to Paddington train on 14 May 1989. If my memory serves me correctly, this was the last day of the winter timetable and the last day that class 50's were rostered to work these trains on the Hereford route. click here to enlarge.
